About the role
As a Cloud Backend Engineer at TheWebVale, you will provision and manage cloud environments for our client platforms on AWS, Oracle Cloud, and DigitalOcean. You will configure containerized services, databases, and serverless tasks that back our production web apps.
You will collaborate closely with backend developers and project leads to deploy software smoothly in two-to-three week cycles. You will design cloud topologies that minimize operational overhead and give clients full control over their infrastructure.
What you will do
- Provision and maintain cloud servers, networks, and databases using infrastructure-as-code.
- Package backend services into lightweight, secure Docker containers.
- Build automated CI/CD deployment pipelines with GitHub Actions and webhook triggers.
- Configure reverse proxies, SSL certificates, and firewall security policies.
- Set up cloud monitoring, health check alerts, and automated backup schedules.
- Optimize cloud resource allocation to reduce hosting costs for client teams.
What you will need
- Have 2–4 years of experience managing cloud infrastructure and backend deployments.
- Show strong competence with Linux system administration, bash, and networking.
- Demonstrate hands-on skill with Docker, container registries, and Docker Compose.
- Have practical experience on cloud platforms like AWS, OCI, or DigitalOcean.
- Understand CI/CD pipeline automation and Git-based deployment workflows.
- Communicate infrastructure status and maintenance plans clearly to teammates.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with Terraform or Pulumi for infrastructure as code.
- Experience deploying Node.js apps on serverless platforms like AWS Lambda.
- Knowledge of DNS configuration, CDN routing, and domain management.
