About the role
As a Design Systems Designer at TheWebVale, you will build and govern the shared component libraries, tokens, and style guidelines that unify our software. You will design multi-brand design systems for clinics, schools, property portals, and software businesses.
You will partner with product designers, component library engineers, and the founder in two-to-three week release cycles. You will ensure design tokens sync seamlessly with code, reducing design debt and speeding up delivery across the studio.
What you will do
- Architect and maintain studio-wide Figma design systems and component libraries.
- Define and manage design token pipelines connecting Figma variables with Tailwind CSS.
- Build comprehensive component sets with variants, auto-layout, and responsive behavior.
- Establish accessibility standards for color contrast, typography scales, and focus states.
- Author clear documentation guidelines explaining when and how to use each component.
- Collaborate with frontend engineers to verify that coded components mirror design specs.
What you will need
- Possess 3–5 years of digital product design experience with deep design system focus.
- Demonstrate expert mastery of Figma features: variables, component sets, and auto-layout.
- Show proven experience building, maintaining, and scaling production design systems.
- Understand design token taxonomies, naming conventions, and theme switching logic.
- Possess solid knowledge of WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility guidelines and component states.
- Communicate governance rules and component updates constructively across teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with Tokens Studio for Figma or automated token export workflows.
- Familiarity with Storybook component documentation and React UI primitives.
- Knowledge of white-label theming for multi-tenant software platforms.
