About the role
As a Backend Web Developer at TheWebVale, you will design the data engines and server services behind custom business software, ERPs, and client booking platforms. You will structure resilient database schemas, enforce authentication standards, and build clean REST endpoints.
You will collaborate with our frontend engineers and founder to define clean API contracts and data models. Working in steady two-to-three week release cadences, you will build scalable backends that our clients own fully.
What you will do
- Develop server-side business logic and APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Design, optimize, and maintain PostgreSQL and MongoDB database architectures.
- Implement secure role-based access control and token-based authentication.
- Integrate third-party services including payment gateways and messaging APIs.
- Set up automated unit and integration tests to verify endpoint reliability.
- Profile server endpoints to minimize response times and resource usage.
What you will need
- Have 3–5 years of focused experience building backend systems and APIs.
- Show strong proficiency with Node.js, Express or Fastify, and TypeScript.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience with SQL schema design and query optimization.
- Understand API versioning, caching strategies, and data serialization.
- Follow structured development practices with Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Communicate backend constraints and trade-offs clearly to frontend teammates.
Nice to have
- Experience building background worker queues using Redis or BullMQ.
- Understanding of microservice communication and event-driven patterns.
- Knowledge of cloud deployment workflows on AWS, OCI, or DigitalOcean.
