About the role
As a WordPress Developer at TheWebVale, you will craft custom themes, plugins, and e-commerce setups for local enterprises, clinics, and professional practices. You will build secure, maintainable sites that steer clear of bloated pre-made templates and excessive plugins.
You will collaborate with our project managers and designers to deliver clean, custom websites within our standard two-to-three week cycles. You will ensure clients receive fast, secure websites with full source code ownership.
What you will do
- Develop bespoke WordPress themes from scratch using PHP, HTML, and CSS.
- Configure advanced custom fields and Gutenberg blocks for flexible page building.
- Set up and customize WooCommerce checkout flows, product catalogs, and payments.
- Optimize WordPress installations for rapid page loading and caching efficiency.
- Audit installations for security vulnerabilities, applying hardening protocols.
- Migrate websites smoothly across staging environments and live production hosting.
What you will need
- Hold 2–4 years of experience building custom WordPress themes and solutions.
- Demonstrate strong proficiency in PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, and modern CSS.
- Have thorough familiarity with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) and Gutenberg.
- Understand WooCommerce hooks, filters, and payment gateway configurations.
- Possess proven experience troubleshooting plugin conflicts and database queries.
- Exhibit structured habits with Git version control and deployment scripts.
Nice to have
- Experience with Headless WordPress setups using Next.js or REST APIs.
- Knowledge of WP-CLI and automated backup automation.
- Familiarity with multisite networks and multilingual plugins like WPML.
