About the role
As a Web Performance Engineer at TheWebVale, you will analyze client web properties to eliminate rendering lag, heavy payloads, and server latency. You will optimize web software for property portals, e-commerce storefronts, and school management platforms.
You will partner with frontend engineers, backend teams, and the founder to implement architectural speed improvements. In regular two-to-three week sprints, you will deliver measurable speed gains that improve conversion rates and search rankings.
What you will do
- Profile web applications using Chrome DevTools, WebPageTest, and Lighthouse.
- Identify and resolve render-blocking scripts, excess DOM size, and layout shifts.
- Implement modern image compression, lazy loading, and responsive media formats.
- Optimize JavaScript bundle sizes through on-demand imports and tree-shaking.
- Configure CDN edge caching, HTTP headers, and compression algorithms.
- Establish continuous performance monitoring to catch regressions before deployment.
What you will need
- Hold 3–5 years of web engineering experience with a deep focus on performance.
- Understand browser rendering pipelines, paint phases, and compositing layers.
- Demonstrate mastery of Core Web Vitals metrics including LCP, INP, and CLS.
- Show practical expertise in analyzing JavaScript execution profiles and memory usage.
- Possess solid working knowledge of modern build tools like Webpack, Vite, or Turbopack.
- Write clear technical recommendations supported by empirical benchmark data.
Nice to have
- Experience optimizing Next.js server-side rendering and static generation.
- Knowledge of edge computing platforms like Cloudflare Workers or Vercel Edge.
- Familiarity with server response tuning in Node.js and database query indexing.
