About the role
As a Component Library Engineer at TheWebVale, you will engineer shared UI design systems, token structures, and reusable component packages for our web and software applications. You will create the foundational UI building blocks used across clinics, schools, and business tools.
You will partner closely with our UI/UX designers and application developers to align design tokens with production code. Working on steady two-to-three week cycles, you will publish clean, well-tested packages that streamline feature development.
What you will do
- Build and maintain accessible, themeable React and TypeScript component packages.
- Maintain comprehensive Storybook documentation showing component states and variations.
- Structure design token pipelines that synchronize Figma variables with CSS and Tailwind.
- Write strict unit and visual regression tests for all core library components.
- Manage package versioning, changelogs, and semantic releases across the studio.
- Support application developers in adopting and customizing shared components.
What you will need
- Possess 3–5 years of frontend experience with significant work on component libraries.
- Demonstrate high proficiency in React, TypeScript, modern CSS, and compound components.
- Show practical experience configuring and maintaining Storybook documentation.
- Understand accessible design patterns using headless primitives like Radix or Headless UI.
- Have experience with npm packaging, bundling with tsup or Vite, and semantic releases.
- Collaborate effectively with product designers to resolve UI discrepancies.
Nice to have
- Experience with visual regression testing tools such as Chromatic or Percy.
- Knowledge of CSS-in-JS vs zero-runtime Tailwind CSS architectures.
- Background designing multi-brand or white-label theming systems.
