About the role
As a Junior Full-Stack Developer at TheWebVale, you will assist in developing web features for local businesses, schools, and healthcare clinics. You will work on both React user interfaces and Node.js server routes while learning practical engineering standards.
You will pair with senior developers and receive continuous feedback throughout our two-to-three week release cycles. You will contribute to production codebases that clients own, gaining valuable hands-on experience across the entire web stack.
What you will do
- Build responsive UI components using React, Next.js, and modern CSS frameworks.
- Write straightforward REST API endpoints and database queries under senior guidance.
- Fix reported bugs across frontend screens and backend server logic.
- Write automated unit tests for newly implemented features and endpoints.
- Participate actively in team code reviews to learn coding best practices.
- Document completed tasks and test workflows across desktop and mobile devices.
What you will need
- Hold 0–1 years of software development experience or practical coding training.
- Demonstrate foundational knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, and modern CSS3.
- Show basic familiarity with React and Node.js server development.
- Understand basic database concepts in PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
- Comfort using Git for version control, branching, and pull requests.
- Bring curiosity, a strong work ethic, and eagerness to learn from senior engineers.
Nice to have
- Personal projects demonstrating working full-stack web applications.
- Basic understanding of TypeScript and RESTful API conventions.
- Familiarity with Tailwind CSS and responsive design principles.
